After being celebrated as a technical skill for many years, Cyber Security is finally getting recognized as a crucial soft-skill. It is time we develop that soft-skill!
For many years the focus of cybersecurity initiatives has mainly been on technology, which is of course important but does not cover the entire bandwidth of challenges and threats. The Human Element in Cybersecurity plays a significant role in cybersecurity and its failures, and we have finally reached the level of awareness that makes us aware that cybersecurity is far more a soft skill than a technical skill.
The soft skill that makes us for example put the right priority on cybersecurity with everything we do, and not allow ourselves to think of exceptions for whatever reason. The soft skill to be able to avoid social engineering and being caught in a situation where we no longer control our own actions, as demonstrated in Did you see the cow?. And of course the soft skill that makes us realize that we all have to do our part in cybersecurity and cyber resilience.
After being celebrated as a technical skill for many years, Cyber Security is finally getting recognized as a crucial soft-skill. A great title for this soft skill is Cyber Hygiene! One way to develop Cyber Hygiene for yourself and your organization is with online business education.
