Cyber Security will either bring you new business when you have it or break your existing business when you don’t.
Cybersecurity was long considered something of a nice-to-have feature, and in too many cases, something that was not important enough to give it the right priority, and with that, the right budgets and resources. Slowly this attitude towards cybersecurity is changing and leadership teams are becoming aware that they carry the full responsibility for cybersecurity, or the lack thereof.
With cybersecurity there is a significant challenge which still is not yet understood by every executive and decisionmaker. You either do cybersecurity complete and correct, and keep doing what needs to be done, or you are simply doing it wrong. And doing it wrong will eventually but your business at risk. Rather do it right, and accept that cybersecurity is a journey and not a destination for which you buy some technology, or for which you can afford to say “we will do that later”.
