Some people will prefer to have all the answers before they make a decision, and in many cases there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. When that person is in a leadership role, it will however quickly become a problem. Leadership and leading means making decisions before all the answers are available. It also means being able and willing to review those decisions as more information becomes available.
And that is where too many leaders go in the wrong direction. Although willing to make decisions before having all answers, and even willing to take a risk with those decisions, many leaders are not willing to review and when needed adjust those decisions. Making a bad decision based on the available information is OK, sticking to that decision when new information becomes available isn’t.
