Not delivering on your commitments has nothing to do with being Agile

Agile creates an environment in which autonomy plays an important role. Unfortunately, many individuals (and organizations) prefer to overlook that this autonomy is enabled by responsibility and commitment.

Not delivering on your commitments is not an aspect of being Agile. It is merely an aspect of being unreliable and will in most cases decrease the ability of the entire team to create value.

Delivering on commitment is just as much part of an agile culture as reaching out early to inform team members when there are issues to keep the commitments. Solving issues together instead of handing down problems down the line is what makes Agile teams successful. That is why the daily standup meetings are so important.
